The Belkin F5L049UK Home Base is a further development of the Belkin Network USB Hub. Just like the Network USB Hub, the Belkin F5L049UK Home Base lets you access USB devices over the network via the software supplied with it. The Belkin F5L049UK Home Base comes with four USB ports on the back, more than four devices can be connected using USB Hubs. The Belkin F5L049UK Home Base supports a total of 15 USB connections - a single USB device may use more than one connection.

Compared with the Network USB Hub, the main differences and additional features of Home Base are:
* Built-in Wireless N client with WPS support
* Network Attached Storage (NAS) functionality, lifting the restriction of single user access to storage devices
