Ring your ISP and make sure you are getting at least near to the speed you are subscribed for, if there is anything majorly wrong with your line they will get BT (Openreach) to sort it out or they can ping your router to check the speeds. Make sure you let them know at what times of the day its at it slowest. If they cant improve it maybe it was time you were with an ISP that can give you faster speeds. Being loyal to ISPs does not payoff if you are not getting the right speeds.
2. Go onto your routers’ manufacturers’ website and check for new firmware for that particular router. Firmware can increase its performance, security and reliability this will lead to an improved  functionality of the router. You may find it speeds up after this.
3. Replace your ADSL Microfilters with new ones and try not to have too many phone adapters or extension cables on your ADSL RJ11 Cables.(ie btween the telephone point and the router/modem)
